The Owl Barn Cottage is tucked away in the Vale of York in the heart of rural North Yorkshire, yet is only 8 miles/20 minutes' drive from the iconic historical city of York.

From the A19
1.Take the A19 heading north from the York inner ring road ( A1037 ) towards Thirsk.

2. Just before the village of Shipton turn left toward Station Lane ( signposted El Treno / The Sidings) - 0.6 mi

3. Turn left onto Station Lane - < 0.1 mi

4. Road name changes to Shipton Low Road - 0.7 mi

5. Bear right onto High Moor Lane - 1.4 mi

6. Arrive at YO30 1AY, North Yorkshire on the right 200 yds after ignoring the left turn to Newton on Ouse The last intersection is Moor Lane. If you reach York Bridge Road, you've gone too far.
